The Press and Communication Observatory is a civil society project that aims to monitor and evaluate the performance of the national media. This assessment is based on research and analysis. The Observatory is guided by the criteria of International Human Rights Law on democracy, freedom of expression and the press, as well as UNESCO's guidelines on a free, independent press and for the service of human development.
